Short-tempered, determined, loud, opinionated, often rude, and very proud! Not a dainty little lady by far.

A talking myna bird gifted to the young, but adventurous Sindbad by his seafaring uncle who found her on his travels. Rather than only mimicking speech, she is wholly sentient and capable of conversation (even if she prefers to laugh and tease)-- the reason for that being is that she is actually an abducted human girl under a spell, but she has only partial memory of this as she was very young when she was transformed. She accompanies Sindbad on a trip at sea with his uncle, but through a tragic twist of fate, the ship is destroyed and only Sindbad and Yasmeena survive.

When he returns home to Baghdad, his parents are gone...

With nothing to tie them there, they set off together seeking adventure, facing jinn and sorcerers, and make friends along the way!
